??
indicates that there is no entry in the database. For example, there is no record of Sarah BRANDT’s parents.
As
usual, colour is used to indicate gender, but it also indicates foreign
records. Bright blue or pink indicates
a record that has a different owner:
for example, while Hannah OLD is from the source robertb/barnes.ged,
records for Zenobia ODGERS, Samuel ODGERS, and Zenobia PRYOR have owner tonyc,
as does the record for John William BARNES (in the children). Records for John OLD and his ancestors have
the same owner, but are from a different source (robertb/old.ged) (NB: same
owner/different GED records are not distinguished in the Partner or Children
grids)
Private
records will not be displayed (the text will simply say “Private”) if you do
not have permission to see them.
